France Datacenter est signataire de l’initiative européenne « Climate Neutral Data Centre » qui est coordonnée par l’association européenne du cloud, CISPE (Cloud Infrastructure Services Providers in Europe).
Il s’agit d’une démarche européenne volontaire en vue d’atteindre la neutralité climatique des datacenters d’ici 2030.

L’engagement des entreprises porte sur les points suivants :
Energy Efficiency:
o By January 1, 2025 new data centers operating at full capacity in cool climates will meet a PUE target of 1.3, and 1.4 for new data centers operating at full capacity in warm climates
o Existing data cent will achieve these same targets by January 1, 2030
o This will apply to all data centers larger than 50KW of maximum power demand
Clean Energy:
o Data centers power consumption will be matched by 75% renewable energy or hourly carbon-free energy by 2025 and reach 100% by 2030
Water:
o By January 1, 2025 new data centers operating at full capacity in cool climates will meet a WUE target of 0.5, and 1.0 for new data centers operating at full capacity in warm climates
o Existing data centers will achieve these same targets by January 1, 2030
Circular Economy:
o Data centers will set a high bar for circular economy practices and will assess for reuse, repair, or recycling 100% of their used server equipment o Data centers operators will increase the quantity of server materials repaired or reused and will create a target percentage for repair and reuse by
Circular Energy System:
o Data centers operators will explore locations that can interconnect with district heating systems and other users of heat to determine if opportunities to feed captured heat into nearby systems are practical, environmentally sound and cost effective
